AUDIOVOX Portable DVD Player GIVEAWAY! Ends 6/15 Daily

Like a child, I too get bored and impatient when traveling a long distance so I do understand where they are coming from. I can hear the whining echo from the backseat "Are we there yet?"...."Are we getting close?"...."Are we there now?". As you might have guessed, this ear piercing whine is coming from my children whom have grown impatient and ready to arrive at our destination. It doesn't matter if your trip is 30 minutes or 10 hours, you still need some type of travel activity!

I recently contacted Audiovox and asked if I could share a review with my readers on one of their products. They generously offered to allow me to review this Audiovox D1809 8-Inch LCD Slim Line Portable DVD Player AND give one away! Needless to say, I was overjoyed and graciously accepted this generous challenge.

Audiovox carries an extensive and incredible selection of electronics to suit a consumers specific needs. From televisions to camcorders, you'll be pleased with the amount of products offered.

The sound and visual quality is unbelievable for an 8" screen. I had no issues with the picture quality and could enjoy my movie from start to finish. I thought that I was going to have a problem with being able to hear the movie as I have with most portable DVD players we've borrowed in the past. However, the sound is clear and loud enough for all of us to hear. However, we did not travel with the player as of yet.

One of my favorite features is the dual headphone jacks! Now both of my children can enjoy a movie without arguing about who gets to listen with headphones first or more whining "Mommmm, I can't hear it!". Oh yes, peace and quiet during future trips at last!! Cheaper headphones work just as well as quality and expensive headphones for children to use. I don't suggest purchasing high quality headphones for a child, especially during travel. I'm considering another purchase of one of these DVD players in the near future to occupy myself as well.

The one thing I've noticed is that you must have the DVD player turned on before trying to use the remote. I'm not sure that you would even need the remote while traveling unless you were going to use it in the hotel room, camper or maybe even in the tent. However, if you are camping I suggest using headphones so not to disturb fellow campers.

The Audiovox D1809 8-Inch LCD Slim Line Portable DVD Player has a built in battery. I left mine charging overnight for the first use and it didn't seem to feel "hot" when I unplugged the charger. You can watch the DVD player with or without the chargers (Wall and Vehicle chargers), I had no issues with this. I would however, keep it plugged in if you have an outlet nearby to save your battery life.

I highly suggest purchasing a portable DVD player carrying case or bag to protect your product from falls, scratches, etc.
